Week of May 1st

 

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  It was great weather!

This week at ACMS:
There is a Track and Field meet this Thursday at Truckee High School.
The school dance is this Friday from 5 to 7pm.
It is Teacher/Staff Appreciation week-Say thank you to a Staff member today!

This week in Lifelong Fitness class:
We are changing sports this week!
If inside - Hand/foot Sepak in the Gym and Spikeball in the Cafe.
If outside - Blaylock has Tennis on the blacktop, 
Franey has Ultimate frisbee on the north side of field and 
McMaster has Ball and Bat games on the south side of the field.

The weather will be unsettled this week.  Rain on and off all week.  
Be prepared to be outside if there is no rain.

Please remember to dress out daily.
PE shirt, active shorts, skorts, leggings or sweatpant/active pants and 
active shoes, not flat soles or platform shoes.  Please try to avoid 
casual pants with zippers or buttons, like jeans.We want everyone to 
be safe while working out. Please let us know if you have questions.

"Choosing a proper shoe can help to protect you against common injuries associated with your type of workout. Good shoes can lessen the impact of your step and cushion the foot from heavy landings. In addition, sport or exercise specific shoes can improve your performance, enabling, for example, quick direction changes.
Improper workout footwear can cause a number of injuries. Besides the more obvious injuries, including ankle strains and fractures, bunions and corns, some other lesser known injuries are common. Metatarsalgia, a condition which presents as pain in the ball of the foot, can be worsened by poorly fitting footwear, according to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center."

Week of April 24th

 


This week at ACMS:
There is a Track and Field meet on Thursday at Galena H.S.
There Student Store will be open, Wed thru Fri this week.

This week in Lifelong Fitness:
It will be our last week of Floor Hockey.
We will also finish all Fitness testing this week.
Friday will be a fun day, because you all did so well on your Fitness Testing!
Next week will be Hand/Foot Sepak.
Wednesday will be Cardio day.

Week of April 17th

 


Welcome back to school!  Another week, another chance to be great!

This week at ACMS:
8th grade Sierra College Tour Tuesday.
6th grade Track meet Thursday.

This week in Lifelong Fitness:
Fitness testing week, we will begin Tuesday.
We hopefully will watch a few videos on Snow Safety on Monday.
We are still in Floor Hockey.

Please remember to dress out daily.

Week of April 10th


 

Welcome back!  Hope you had a great Holiday!

This week at ACMS:
Nordic ski team banquet is Tuesday.

This week in Lifelong Fitness:
It is CPR week. We will be learning about CPR this week.
Our sport is still Floor Hockey.
We will use the blacktop if the weather is nice enough!
Basketball or Pigball or ???
Wednesday is Cardio day!

I am gone Monday and Tuesday, will be back Wednesday.
