Week of October 18th

Welcome Back!  Hope everyone had a refreshing weekend!

This week will be a bit cooler and stormy.  Please dress appropriately!
We will try to go outside as often as we can.

Friday is picture retake day.

If you are absent you need to look at the Google Classroom assignment for the week.
You do not need to return the assignment unless you are absent for 3 or more days.

If you are absent for three or more days, you need to complete the work.
Please use complete sentences and answer all the questions.
The answers will be in this Blog, or in a video attached.
You need to look up the answers if you do not know the answers.

You have two weeks from your return to school, to complete the work.

This week in Lifelong long Fitness class:
We are in our second week of Rugby.
We will continue to test the rugby throws/catches.
Then we will play some games.
Review the rules from the blog last week.
Wednesday is still cardio day.

We will work on moving the ball forward using the triangle drill.
In the triangle drill stay spread out in a loose triangle formation
so you can throw the ball to the side.  The person with the ball
should always be the tip of the triangle.
Do not turn completely around to throw the ball.
Twist your upper body for a lateral throw.
Lateral is to the side.

Why do we have a Cardio day weekly?
"Cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) refers to the capacity of the circulatory and respiratory systems to supply oxygen to skeletal muscle mitochondria for energy production needed during physical activity. CRF is an important marker of physical and mental health and academic achievement in youth."  American Heart Association

"Regular aerobic physical activity increases a teen's capacity for exercise."
URMC

Have a fun and fit week!
